A sales manager who joined the rebellion
I wasn’t just a loan officer. I spent more than 20 years in retail mortgage lending as a loan officer, then as a sales manager and branch manager.
In October 2025, I helped found Rebel Lending Mortgage Company with my brother, Isaac Schuster (NMLS #1949316), and his college roommate, O'Keal Gist (NMLS #2016576), who’s basically another little brother. We started Rebel because we were tired of doing things “the way they have always been done” at retail banks. We wanted to try new things, offer a full list of products and services most retail banks don’t, and stop being told no by upper-level management in suits who no longer know what it’s like in the mortgage world.
Rebel Lending is a mortgage broker, so we aren’t stuck with one bank’s programs. We compare loan options from multiple wholesale lenders to find the right fit for each buyer.
